The works in this series are inspired by the landscapes, ocean, fauna and flora and evokes a memory of places I've been in South Africa, sky and of course my passion for the Impressionists.
The artist usually utilizes short square brushes to create blocks of colour and contrast when including mark making in her work, covering only parts of the canvas. Where as, this work features a multitude of repetitive marks consuming the entire canvas. The appearance of the marks are influenced by the tonal back ground the size of the brush and a limited palette.
