A rich and vibrant abstract work, Framed in a light Oak, measuring 44cm x 44cm
This work evolved from an experimental process over the last 3 years, this work is part of a body of work where the focus moves to the tiny details of the banksia and protea flowers and the shape of the little flowers within. These brush strokes are usually purposefully unconnected, the space between has as much significance as the organic shaped brush strokes. The size and form are dictated by the type of brush and the painting mixing.
The colours in the burnt orange series evolved after I was lucky enough to recently view an original Edgar Degas painting of ballerinas. The vibrancy of the colours stayed with me.
