From my series of still life native flowers, which I revisit frequently. The colours are always my inspiration for my mark making veneer paintings.
The flowers that feature are fresh and set up in my studio in front of the window, which allows the light to surround the vase.
I am influenced by the impressionists, and many of my still life painting are full of marks making and brush strokes capturing the light and changing circumstances. The flowers in this work are slightly more focused on than usual, bringing out the details.
